PURBALINGGA— (Anggi Hair Company News):

Indonesia’s human hair extensions industry continues to show strong performance in international markets. Known for its cuticle-aligned quality, natural strength, and smooth texture, Indonesian hair is becoming increasingly sought after across Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.

In 2024, Indonesia’s human hair extensions export value is estimated to reach USD 45–60 million, driven by rising demand from global salons, distributors, and beauty suppliers. Indonesia now stands among the most competitive suppliers worldwide, alongside China, Vietnam, and India.

According to recent trade reports, Europe has experienced significant growth in imports of Indonesian hair products. Countries such as Germany, France, Bulgaria, Italy, and the Netherlands have recorded increased demand for raw hair, weft hair, tape-ins, keratin tips, and custom-colored extensions produced by Indonesian manufacturers, from small businesses to large-scale exporters.

One of Indonesia’s greatest strengths is its supply of virgin cuticle-aligned hair, known for superior durability, natural shine, and excellent performance during coloring and heat-styling processes. This makes Indonesian hair highly favored by professional salons seeking premium quality.

The Ministry of Trade noted that the government continues to support non-oil and gas exports—including the hair products industry—through export facilitation programs, quality standardization training, and collaboration with industry players.
“Breakthroughs into non-traditional markets must be accelerated to strengthen the global position of Indonesian products,” a Trade Ministry official stated.

Several Indonesian hair extension producers have also expanded their reach into Eastern Europe and North Africa. Products such as weft hair, clip-ins, tape-ins, I-tip, U-tip, and flat-tip extensions remain among the top demand categories. Additionally, custom coloring services such as ombre, balayage, and advanced bleaching techniques are further boosting international interest.

With rising global beauty trends and reliable product quality, Indonesia’s hair extension exports are expected to grow significantly in the coming years, creating greater opportunities for local manufacturers to scale their production and expand market penetration.
